Dr. Christiana Savvidou

Orthopaedic Surgeon – Hand Surgeon

Dr. Christiana Savvidou is a highly experienced Orthopedic Hand Surgeon practicing in Dubai, after practicing for several years in the USA.

Dr. Savvidou earned her Medical Degree and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Orthopaedic Department of the University of Athens in Greece.

She completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery at Tampere University in Finland, along with a fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at the Christine M.Kleinert Institute, the University of Louisville in Kentucky, USA. There she received specialized training in adult and pediatric hand surgery, nerve reconstruction, microsurgery, and management of complex hand and wrist sports injuries and conditions. She also served as a Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon in Cyprus and the USA in Indiana and Kentucky.

Dr. Savvidou has authored a number of publications in her field helping her establish herself as one of the leaders in her field of study and practice while also having been awarded on several occasions for her contributions to the field. Notably, she was part of the leading team involved in Hand Transplantation at the University of Louisville Composite Tissue Allotransplantation program. She has also held several teaching positions across Greece and the USA.

Currently she is working in Dubai. Her special interests include upper extremity trauma, microsurgical reconstruction and congenital hand anomalies.
